Sam was born and raised in Reading, Pennsylvania. Passionate about sports since an early age, she pursued her dreams to play Division 1 soccer at Princeton University. At school, she deepened her love of writing and literature as an English major. After graduating from Princeton, Sam spent a year in Nan, Thailand, carrying out a service-based fellowship as an English teacher to hundreds of tiny Thai children. Now 23 years old, Sam lives in New York City’s East Village and works at an executive recruiting firm. While her profession doesn’t involve her love of literature, she channels her creative side into her personal blog www.something20.com, a site that examines the life of a 20-something through non-fiction pieces. Personally, Sam enjoys playing the guitar (poorly), taking photos of her friends, doing yoga, eating way too many acai bowls, and binge-watching Madmen. She hopes to publish a book of short stories within the next couple years.
